Creighton in Phoenix
By 2030, Arizona is expected to have just one primary care doctor for every 1,500 people and a projected shortage of 50,000 nurses, such shortages presenting dangerous delays in the diagnosis and treatment of our residents. Arizona needs health care professionals now.
With the support of donors like you, Creighton will change the face of health care in the Southwest and form a new generation of compassionate, well-trained professionals ready to meet the needs of our communities.
Your gift to this page will support the most immediate priorities of Creighton's Phoenix campus, ensuring that our faculty and staff have everything they need to provide the best possible health sciences education to our students. A gift to this cause is really three gifts. A gift to our University, a gift to our students, a gift to everyone our graduates will go on to care for.
Our mission
"We are honored to be playing a major role in the dramatic transformation taking place on Arizona’s health care landscape.
"The new campus combines our tradition for educational excellence in the health sciences with our distinctive Jesuit, Catholic mission."
— The Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD, Creighton University president
The building was just the beginning
More than a year ago, hundreds of students, faculty and staff walked into a beautiful new building in midtown Phoenix. This building, this moment, was both the culmination of a dream and the answer to a question: How can we help?
How can we deepen our longtime ties to a city’s medical community into something greater? How can we infuse more health care professionals into a state that needs them now?
In the end, the answer was a beacon, a new home for the Creighton health sciences in Phoenix—the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Health Sciences Building.
In the short time it’s been open, the campus has already drawn hundreds more medical, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy and occupational therapy students to the city.
At full enrollment, the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus in Phoenix will accommodate about 1,000 students to help meet the state’s booming population and the growing needs of aging and diverse demographics.
