Bluejay Cross Country and Track
Eyes Up, The Future is Bright has been the motto of the Bluejay Cross Country and Track & Field programs since 2018, and for good reason! Over the past seven years, the Jays have expanded from a cross-country-only program to officially add track & field in 2022. The 2023 season marked a historic milestone as Tommy Ward became the program’s first-ever NCAA qualifier in track. The 2024 season saw another breakthrough as the Bluejays made their inaugural appearance at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. Just last month, Creighton competed in its first-ever BIG EAST Indoor Championships, where the men's 4x800 relay team secured the program’s first ALL-BIG EAST Track & Field performance.
The past seven years have been filled with record-breaking achievements—43 school records and over 300 all-time performances by Bluejay athletes. While excelling on the track, the Jays have also dominated in the classroom, consistently ranking among the nation’s top academic programs and earning multiple academic national championships.
As the Bluejay Cross Country and Track & Field programs continue to soar, they launched the Eyes Up fundraising initiative in December 2024 to support student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence. This initiative aims to provide essential resources such as equipment, gear, nutrition, and travel to help athletes compete at the highest level. Additionally, funds will be used to further invest the home cross country course, which will host the 2025 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, cementing its reputation as a premier venue in the Midwest.

The goal is to raise $180,000 for the Cross Country and Track & Field program by July 2026. Donors who contribute at the following levels by June 30, 2025, will receive recognition at our home course:
- Champion – $25,000
- Gold – $10,000
- Silver – $5,000
- Bronze – $2,500
- Recent Alumni (since 2020) & Current Student-Athletes – $1,000
