Giving Day FAQs
What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is a 24-hour opportunity to support our students by making a gift to scholarships, programs and causes across all schools and colleges. It’s a special day because it’s about the collective impact thousands of alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends can have on the University.
It’s about inspiring each other to support the University we love. Together, we can make a huge difference!
Why should I make a gift on Giving Day?
On Giving Day, your gift goes far! Dozens of generous donors will match gifts or give additional sums to designated areas through challenge funds. Check here for a list of challenges.
What is the University’s top fundraising priority on Giving Day?
Creighton’s top fundraising priority, year after year, is increasing scholarship assistance for our excellent students. For many of our students and their families, the economic fallout of the past few years has led to significant challenges.
Scholarships will be vital to recruiting and retaining our students, and to delivering the life-changing experiences for which Creighton is known.
But you can support so many different causes on Giving Day. Every gift adds up to something great at Creighton!
Can I give to my school or college?

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Contributions to the University are eligible for income tax deductions as allowed by law. Please consult with your professional advisor when determining the deductibility of your charitable contributions.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can contribute?

Can I make a gift in honor of someone? How?
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to honor your loved ones, former classmates or favorite professors. To make a gift in honor of someone, select “In honor of” in the dropdown menu and note the name on the second step of the giving form, under “Donor Display Information.”
I meant to make an anonymous gift. Can this be changed?
We can make this change. Please email givingday@creighton.edu with your name and the area you supported, and we will mark your gift as anonymous.
