Your Giving Day gift to the Magis Catholic Teacher Corps will support the holistic formation of each educator in our program.
Magis Catholic Teacher Corps seeks faith-filled and enthusiastic educators for Catholic schools across the Midwest and Arizona. As a service-focused program, we support our students through two years of professional teaching while they earn a fully funded master’s degree from Creighton.
The need for teachers is great, and Magis’ graduate program forms educators with a faith that does justice; leaders who stand for and with students. Magis teachers seek to do more for Christ, as St. Ignatius did.
What your gift means to teachers
$25 covers an hour of training for Magis teachers. Much of their coursework focuses on trauma-informed care, effective classroom management and Ignatian-formed pedagogy.
$50 covers a subscription to Education for Justice, a collection of pedagogical resources from the Ignatian Solidarity Network for teachers to infuse Catholic Social Teaching into their classrooms.
$125 covers the cost of a University field supervisor to conduct one professional coaching session with a Magis teacher.
Investing in Catholic educators
Magis teachers take coursework through Creighton’s education department to earn a master's degree in elementary teaching, secondary teaching, school counseling, educational leadership or educational specialist areas. The program offers pathways to future and current educators alike.
We focus on Ignatian pedagogy to develop new educators, giving them the tools to better serve their students and their communities.
Our program is 23 years old, with more than 200 graduates, most of whom stayed in the field of education and Catholic schools, in particular. Our current cohorts teach more than 700 students in eight Catholic schools across six states.
