Phoenix – School of Nursing Scholarships
When you support nursing scholarships in Phoenix, you help us form a new generation of nurses ready to serve a region urgently in need of healthcare professionals. By 2030, Arizona is expected to have a shortage of 50,000 nurses.
In addition to the Creighton health care professionals already practicing in the state, the creation of the Phoenix campus will inject hundreds more in the next few years. And they will be among the best in their fields.
Your support of scholarships will continue to bring tremendous students to Phoenix and infuse the area with some of the most practice-ready nurses in the nation.
Extensive clinical opportunities will prepare them for the field. Dedicated faculty and staff will ensure they flourish. A Jesuit-inflected humanities curriculum will inspire them not just to treat the illness but meet the needs of the whole person, in a spirit of service and compassion.
Our nursing students are here, learning and serving, because of you. Your scholarship support makes everything — this campus, this education, this mission — possible.
Growing in every direction
"We’re getting a great experience in interdisciplinary care and collaboration. We work alongside medical students, occupational therapists and physical therapists inside and outside campus. We’re seeing what each field brings to the table and building strong bonds across all disciplines. At Creighton, there are so many opportunities to grow in every direction.”
— Brandon Gajeski, BSN'23
The building was just the beginning
In 2021, hundreds of students, faculty and staff walked into a beautiful new building in midtown Phoenix. This building, this moment, was both the culmination of a dream and the answer to a question: How can we help?
How can we deepen our longtime ties to a city’s medical community into something greater? How can we infuse more healthcare professionals into a state that needs them now?
In the end, the answer was a beacon, a new home for the Creighton health sciences in Phoenix—the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Health Sciences Building.
In the short time it’s been open, the campus has already drawn hundreds more medical, nursing, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy and occupational therapy students to the city.
At full enrollment, the Creighton University Health Sciences Campus in Phoenix will accommodate about 1,000 students, including nurses and other healthcare professionals, to help meet the state’s booming population and the growing needs of aging and diverse demographics.
