Study Abroad Scholarships
Each year, nearly 500 Creighton undergraduates and professional students participate in global learning programs abroad — ranging from one week to one year — in Japan and India, in Belgium and the Dominican Republic and many destinations in between.
Creighton study abroad experiences provide opportunities that encourage student development and integration of new knowledge, including leadership skills and growth in cultural awareness.
While Creighton strives to make study abroad experiences affordable and accessible to all students, additional costs can be barriers to participation. Your Giving Day support of the Study Abroad Scholarship Fund will help students cover such costs as:
Scholarships to support students’ daily living expenses while abroad (room, board, transportation, textbooks)
Passport and student visa fees
Travel health appointments and required medications
International travel
International health insurance
Loss of income from work not available while abroad
Accessible to everyone
We are helping to prepare students for the new realities of study abroad amid an ever-changing world.
The rising cost of living may make the extra steps of study abroad seem insurmountable. By offering scholarship opportunities to relieve some of the additional costs, the Global Engagement Office hopes to continue making the Creighton experience abroad accessible to our whole student community!
Study Abroad Scholarship Fund
Education abroad provides students the opportunity to engage in global learning and to experience the connections between people, places and ideas throughout the world.
Students are challenged to reflect on the synergy between their academic experience, their personal worldview and their time abroad.
Such experiences are a prime embodiment of Creighton's mission of Global Engagement — "to expand our capacity to serve in solidarity with neighbors and nations, to bring expertise, innovation, compassion and leadership as committed partners in meeting the complex challenges of the present and in realizing the possibilities for the future on a local, national and international scale.”
